Bathroom Wall Assessments & Post-Hospital Discharge Installations
Mississauga’s rapid growth means homes range from older detached houses to modern high-rise condos. Buildings in areas like Erin Mills, Meadowvale or the Square One area often use commercial metal studs or concrete walls instead of standard wood framing.
We frequently install grab bars for clients preparing for bathroom safety after discharge from Trillium Health Partners and make sure that grab bars are installed according to the occupational therapist’s direction. Every installation begins with an assessment of your bathroom’s wall construction and before any work begins, we’ll explain our recommendations, discuss any installation limitations, and answer your questions so you know exactly what to expect. Bathroom safety is important, please check out our Post-Surgical Bathroom Safety Checklist for tips and suggestions.

Do You Install Grab Bars in Apartments and Condominiums?
Yes, we install grab bars in Mississauga condominiums and apartments, but there is an important consideration. These buildings often feature different wall construction methods, including plaster and lath, metal studs or concrete block all of which can affect how grab bars are mounted and the level of support they can provide.
In many cases, grab bars can be installed to provide reliable support for balance and stability during everyday use. However, depending on the wall structure and mounting method, some installations may not be intended for full body-weight support. We assess each installation individually and explain the installation options available based on the wall conditions and how the grab bar will be used.
